ADOPT ME

Five-year-old Amber came to us a few weeks ago from a pound in Kent as she wasn’t claimed.

When she arrived with us, she was found to have a suspicious-looking lump in her chin and after being analysed and removed this was found to be a low-grade mast cell tumour.

The tumour was completely excised shortly afterwards with good margins, but unfortunately a sampled lymph node showed signs of mast cells. Amber’s prognosis is still favourable as it could be isolated spread (and even if not, further lymph nodes could be removed) so she has been to our for a staging procedure today, with the results due in a few days.

Amber is another beautiful soul who has been so badly let down. It breaks my heart think of her not only being abandoned and ending in a council pound, but all while she had cancer starting to slowly spread around her body. She is such a lovely-natured girl who loves people and dogs alike.

Thankfully, she is in a wonderful foster home and has the best vet care. We will do everything we can for Amber and will keep everyone posted.
