ADOPT ME

We are looking for a foster with a view to adopt home for Marshall, who arrived with us recently. Marshall is a 5-year-old Labrador who came to us due to his owner’s allergies around him and we believed he would go into foster and be rehomed quite quickly.

On arrival, however, Marshall was found to have sore, itchy skin and ears so he is now on a range of medication, including antibiotics, shampoos, ear cleaners and sprays. We’ve also changed his food to a sensitive skin product in the hope that this helps too.

As we think it will take a little time to get his ears/skin under control, we would like to try and move Marshall to a longer-term foster home to continue his vet care. This would ideally be with a view to adopting him so he can have more stability and not get too settled in his current short-term foster home.

Marshall is a lovely, cuddly and very friendly boy. He is in foster with another dog, but we feel he would be just as happy on his own. Any dogs he does go with will need to be similar-sized as he’s quite a chunk.

Marshall is strong on the lead, so will need a strong handler. He will pull on the lead when he sees other dogs, but only to say hello as he is an incredibly friendly boy.

His foster-mum says he greets everyone with gusto and absolutely loves the fuss and attention from visitors and strangers alike.

He has a lovely temperament despite being tormented by his itching and is such a good boy when having his ears cleaned.

Marshall will obviously need to stay local to our vets in Derby, Nottingham, Chesterfield or Burton so we can continue to pay for his vet treatment.
