We are looking for a foster home, ideally with a view to adopt, for beautiful Tess, a five-year-old chocolate lab who has come to us due to a change in circumstances.
Tess has been in a foster home and as she has already vaccinated and spayed, we had hoped to find her forever home quite quickly. Unfortunately, Tess came to us with a limp in one of her hind legs and despite vet-prescribed pain relief, restricting her exercise and plenty of rest, it has not improved to any great degree.
We would therefore like to move Tess over to a longer-term foster home so we can investigate this further, find out what is causing the issue and ensure she is as comfortable as.
Tess is a placid, affectionate girl, who loves to be around people. She is fine with visitors/strangers and will welcome everyone into her home with a waggy tail and a cuddly toy if she can find one in time.
Tess did live with another dog with no issues at all before coming to us, but after getting attacked by another dog a few years before she is now reactive to dogs she doesn’t know when she is out walking. This IS improving as she can usually be distracted by food, but we are concerned that her leg issues are being made worse by the pulling and rearing up she can sometimes do when she encounters other dogs.
Tess isn’t cat tested so will need a cat-free home.
This lovely girl really deserves some stability in her life. She has so much love to give and she will make the most wonderful companion to someone out there.
