ADOPT ME

Roxy will be ready for adoption at the end of the month following her second vaccination.

Roxy has been in foster to the past 3 weeks after a stint in kennels when she first arrived. She originally came from the pound so we have no history on her past life.

Roxy’s microchip puts her at being 8 years old, but she acts and looks younger than her age.

We are looking for a child-free forever home for Roxy. Applicants should have large breed experience, ideally with rotties specifically.

She has shown no interest in other dogs, but we believe a pet-free home would be best for her as we have no history of her living alongside other pets.

Roxy was said to be delightful guest in kennels (both pound kennels and now private kennels). She was noted to have been friendly, sociable and polite around her food.

In her foster home, there have been no problems at all. Her fosters describe her as a lovely girl, who loves her walks, food and meeting people.

Her reaction to dogs on walks is mixed, but this is quite normal and is easily managed. She is also strong on the lead when she does pull, though she walks very nicely when there are no distractions.

She has been left for short periods and has been absolutely fine.

Roxy can feel overwhelmed if she feels her space is being compromised and will grumble, so it’s really important to listen to her when she lets you know that she would prefer to be left alone. This condition isn’t reciprocal, however, and she is more than happy to invade yours!

Roxy will need to be spayed as part of her adoption so forever homes must be close together Derby, Nottingham, Stoke, Burton, Chesterfield or Newark as this is undertaken by our vets and paid for by the rescue.
