Tiny little Dylan is now ready for adoption! Dylan came to us with eight other little chihuahuas a few weeks ago after their owner sadly passed away.
Dylan is a nervous dog but in the right environment he is happy and loving and a delight to be around. His microchip puts him at 11 years young.
He lives with two children currently in his foster home, but they have learned that Dylan only wants to be petted when he comes to them and not vice versa or he may snap at them. He is very loving and relaxed around the adults in the home and has no issues at all around them.
During his time in foster, he has been house trained, although you should still expect the odd accident as he settles into his new home.
He’s currently living with another chihuahua but they don’t get on and we think Dylan would benefit from being the only dog in the home. He has also snapped at unfamiliar dogs whilst in foster.
Dylan has been learning to walk on a lead during his foster placement and he is getting very good at it. Although he’s not always keen to go out, he really enjoys his walks once he’s out. He now walks beautifully on the lead and is slowly learning that walks are for sniffing and enjoying (he didn’t realise this at first). He hasn’t been reactive to other dogs on walks, although he does need to be kept on the lead currently as he does have the potential to snap at other dogs.
Whilst in foster, Dylan has been neutered successfully and has had extensive dental work. He does need a soft diet as he has a limited number of teeth. He also has a heart murmur with he needs daily medication for, for life. But it doesn’t stop him enjoying his walks and being active.
He is crate trained and occasionally needs to use a puppy pad at night. He can be left for periods of time in his crate and he loves to sleep!
Dylan is growing in confidence everyday and has the waggiest tail. He is always excited to see his foster parents and greets them by standing on his hind legs and wagging furiously. He loves to cuddle, once he feels comfortable in your presence and in the right home, would make someone the most lovely, loyal dog.
