Our puppies are now nearly eight weeks old so we are now tentatively starting to look for their forever homes. Their first vaccinations are booked for 02/11 and we would like them to be rehomed soon after, with their second vaccinations of course being paid for by the rescue in their new homes.
Below are photos of the puppies and a brief description of their little characters and what they will need in their forever homes in an initial write-up by their foster-mum.
“All the babies will need active homes that can give them the mental and physical stimulation they are going to need.
They do not like to be bored. These babies are not going to be lazy, couch dogs.
When they are awake, they are constantly on the go!
I would personally say no kids under 8. They are very into rough and tumbly already and obviously have not met very young small children.
Pups will all be crate/pen trained for sleep times and I would highly recommend that this is continued.
I would recommend all babies go with at least one other dog. The girls need calm dogs and the boys would benefit from a home with a confident dog to help build up their confidence.
The girls all have the heavier more spaniel type coat.
The boys are more beagle.
Yellow 💛
Is the confident one. She is in charge and likes to make sure the others know it. Loves the attention of her person and a good cuddle but also loves to be causing mischief. She is the first awake and last asleep everytime
Will need a non-dominant dog to live with.
Pink🩷
Another confident pup who likes to get her own way. She thinks for herself and does everything the way she feels is best. Like nothing better than to spar with yellow.
Orange 🧡
The quietest of the girls. Likes to play and rough and tumble with the others, but sulks if woken from her naps. She is happy to take herself off and be by herself. Can be very confrontational with the other girls if they push her enough.
Green 💚
The quietest of the boys and so laid back. Loves to snuggle into his siblings and sleep. Will come for cuddles on his terms, but when he does he snuggles right in. Loves being around the older children.
Blue 💙
The more nervous of the boys. He needs a quiet, but active home. He loves to be with one or two of his siblings but when it gets loud and chaotic he takes himself off to play alone. He chooses to be alone over being around the kids and other pups unless its quiet. He may be better suited to not being around kids, but fine around older children/teens. Definitely more of a man’s dog as he chooses the male human company every time. If anyone is going to tantrum and object to things beings done, it’s Blue.
Red ❤️
is behind the others so only just starting to develop a personality but he loves to snuggle and be held. He is a lot smaller than the other pups and has worried us at times. He needs a follow-up health check to ensure he is developing as he should”.
When applying for these puppies, please look past the current puppy cuteness to consider the dog they will become. Both breeds (mum is a beagle and dad a cocker spaniel, we believe) are high energy, so this mix isn’t for the faint-hearted.
You will need to be local to Derby, Nottingham, Burton or Chesterfield so you can bring your puppy back for his/her second vaccination and neutering when they are old enough.
Please read criteria – at least one resident dog, older children/teens and local to the areas listed above.
Resident dogs must be neutered and proof provided.
