ADOPT ME

Lockie is now ready for adoption. Lockie came to us after being rehomed privately, but one of the resident dogs didn’t take to him so Lockie was kept in a stable.

Lockie is nearly three years old according to his microchip. He is a Labrador cross, but we aren’t sure of breed mix.

Here is his foster-mum’s write-up…

“Lockie is a gentle giant who is very loving and affectionate. He is very good on the lead and knows basic commands. Lockie sleeps downstairs on his own with no issues. He can be anxious in new situations and would probably be better in rural or semirural environment.

He was ok to be left for a few hours initially but is now anxious so will need some of the time initially to build his trust and confidence.

He has been fine in the house with visiting female dogs. He was attacked by a bigger dominant dog in the past and can therefore be nervous meeting new dogs, especially larger ones. He is now much better with careful introductions to other friendly dogs.

He is well behaved in cafes, bars and restaurants. He is also good with visiting children but because of his size, older children may be better as he can still jump up for cuddles. Lockie is friendly and affectionate with most people he meets”.

Lockie is fully vaccinated, but will need to stay local to the rescue to be neutered when he is settled in his forever home.
