Cookie is around four to five years old. She came to us after being sold as part of a drugs deal as she was pregnant. She gave birth to the puppies in squalor but they were taken shortly afterwards in a break-in and Cookie was beaten trying to protect them. As a consequence of this, she is now quite timid when she first meets you and a home where she is bombarded with visitors would not be suitable for Cookie. Her foster family describe her as the most scared, broken dog they have ever fostered – though with their love and reassurance she is now so much more confident and care-free. She lives with another dog and they get on extremely well. It took a few weeks for her to gain enough confidence to play with him and the video of her doing this for the first time brought us to tears! We would like her to go with another calm dog as she enjoys their company so much. She hasn’t been around cats at all. In line with her foster home, we would like her to go with older children though we have no doubt she would be perfect with visiting children of any age.
Cookie has had the most horrible trauma to deal with in her life and we would like to find the most wonderful home for her.
She has had a cyst removed from just under her eye, which may be visible on her photos.
